Their Lovin, My Oven

My Journey as a Gestational Surrogate

Lions, Tigers & Bears.. Oh My!! April 2, 2011

Since my last post, not much has gone on – And that’s a good thing! We’re still truckin’ right along full speed ahead towards the first embryo transfer.

I’ve had one more Delestrogen shot (total of 3 – My dreaded 4th is tonight) and I’ve come to realize that the first one being easy, peasy, lemon squeezy was the universe playing a joke on me. The shots are a pain in my ass – literally. However, any pain is totally worth it. In this case, the “end” (ie a super cute bambino for E & M) totally justify the “means” (ie a big needle in my butt.) LOL.

I’ve got an amazing support system and I couldn’t be more thankful. My Dear Hubby faithfully rubs my tush so the Delestrogen oil doesn’t knot up, refrains from smacking my butt, and doesn’t make fun of me when I cry at tv shows. Our oldest daughter holds my hands while Hubby does the injections. My friends faithfully ask how my butt is feeling on Thursday afternoons at work and everyone shares my excitement at progress towards making E & M daddies. I’m one lucky girl and believe me, I know it :).

I had an appt at the REs office Wednesday. My uterine lining aka future bambino home is building nicely and shots continue as is for now. I have another appt this coming Wednesday. As far as I know, we’re still right on schedule for a transfer sometime between April 8th-11th.

I’m keeping fingers, toes and eyes crossed for April 8th or 9th. Wanna know why? Too bad. Haha just kidding. E & M just landed in Los Angeles for their week long visit!!!!! Yay!!!!! We are meeting them for breakfast bright and early and then heading to the LA Zoo for some quality time! We’ll get to enjoy each others company in a relaxed setting and they’ll get to meet our girls 🙂

If we can do the transfer on the 8th or 9th, E & M will still be here! So, cross those fingers people!

Until next time! 🙂

Sweetie E&M which I like to refer to as the “ME’s” are so lucky. Are you really crying at tv shows? That is ok when you have their bun in your oven you will then start to cry at commericals! HUGS!!!! Have fun at the zoo!
